First day: from Santa Fe NM to Childress TX

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The fog steamed out of the horizon as we left Santa Fe this morning. We went through desolate New Mexican landscapes of great beauty. We drove through part of Texas full of trucks, trains, feedlots, steakhouses, run down buildings, small towns with big cars. We made it to Childress, Texas. After some research we did find a place to eat that was not a steakhouse – a delicious Thai restaurant where young people and the local cops also were hanging out. Ross is down and out, he drove all day. I have been struggling with WordPress on the road…more pictures will follow when I hopefully have figured this slideshow thing out. Goodnight for now.

Thanks Alison. Yes, it is over 2000 miles from Santa Fe to Key Largo, our first stop in the Keys. Right now we are in Mobile, Alabama in a nice Super8 Motel. Ross is watching American football (“oh no, another touchdown New England!”), I am getting ready to post on our blog if I can figure out %$#@!**&^ WordPress. Much love and blessings right back to you and Rob.
