Friends along the way

On our last day in the Keys Ross and I had a lovely meeting with Erika and Joel who live in Key West. We had lunch by the ocean and later Erika showed us an enchanted garden full of orchids. Thank you to our mutual friend Jonathan Horwitz, shaman soul doctor in Sweden, for connecting us.

I had the vision that the Atlantic Ocean and the Mexican Gulf would literally clash together like I have seen at Grenen, the Northern tip of Denmark, where the North Atlantic and the Kattegat clash their waves against other. But in the Keys the two oceans just blend. This is due to the fact that the tides get bigger the further North you go on the planet I was told by Greg, the fisherman. So here is my photo of the Atlantic and the Gulf blending.

We stayed for a couple of days in a rustic cottage on Pine Island visiting with friends.

Ross with his long time friends Gerald and Loretta Hausman. Gerald is a well known writer and storyteller and collaborates with his wife in many of his works.

Zora, the Great Dane, fell in love with Ross and gave him a thorough head lick. I haven’t seen him giggling that much in a long time.

Ross and Gerry having fun in the swimming pool.

Ross’ paintings are now represented in a beautiful gallery on Pine Island, Florida

Sounds like a gentle closing to the month on Big Pine Key. I enjoyed the explanation and photo of where the Gulf meets the ocean in a natural kind of blending that contrasts with where the waters meet farther north. Also, such good news that Ross’ paintings are now in a gallery down there! Look forward to your return to Santa Fe!

Mary, Jana and Debby, many thanks for staying connected, so delightful to hear from you. Ross and I are right now in New Orleans LA after a very long day of driving. Getting into New Orleans trailering the boat behind the jeep was a little bit of a challenge in the monster traffic on the layered ramps! And having dinner at Wendy’s because everything else was closed out here where we are staying was even more challenging for Ross – not for me, I passed on dinner today. But one of my dreams on this journey was to see New Orleans so no complaints! Pictures to come. XOXO Hanne
